The northern hills or best described as the hills of North India are the best holiday destinations when it comes to planning a trip to beat the heat. Being situated at an altitude and affected by weather systems almost all throughout the year, the weather across the hills mostly remain pleasant.

As of now also, the tristate of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand have been witnessing rains from last many days. In fact, rains though occasional in nature have been pouring over the three hilly states ever since the month of June began.

The last 24 hours were nothing but a chapter of another good rainy episode for all Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand wherein light to moderate with some isolated heavy spells lashed most districts of the Northern hills.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Tuesday, Solan recorded 58 mm of rains, Dharamsala 52.6 mm, Katra 50.3 mm, Kukernag 47.9 mm, Batote 20 mm, Tehri 20 mm, Banihal 11.9 mm, and Jammu witnessed 17 mm of rains.

Skymet Weather discloses the reason behind these rainy showers is the arrival of one after another Western Disturbance that affects the Western Himalayan region. At present also, a Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir.

And hence in the wake of this, rains mainly in light to moderate nature are likely to occur over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh for the next 24 hours. Occasional showers will also continue to show up in parts of Uttarakhand as well but the intensity of rains over Uttarakhand is expected to rise 24 hours hence.

Thereafter, the situation is conducive for the rains to keep showering upon the three states for the next 48 hours. However, weather conditions will somewhat become favorable after 48 hours but on and off light rains which are a characteristic of pre-Monsoon season will keep on pouring. Although, possibilities of landslides that was a recent scene in many areas of the Himalayan region are ruled out.

In a nutshell, the weekend will be a good time to relish and enjoy the scenic beauty of northern hills.
