The sttae of Tamil Nadu observed lean weather activity in the last 24 hoirs. Today also, nothing significant is expected. December 17 will also hardly see any rains.
Conditions will start to build up around December 18 and 19 and light to moderate rainfall may be seen over parts of Tamil Nadu. Rains may be slightly more on december 20 and 21 with rainfall being moderate and isolated pockets may see heavy showers as well.
On December 22, rains will once again become light to moderate and recede around December 23. Thereafter, weather will once again start to become dry.
A low pressure area is in the Bay of Bengal which is moving westwards, a little south of its normal position, close in the equatorial latitudes. Thus, not much rains will occur due to this system. Rains will be more due to the arrival of an easterly wave which is coinciding with the circulation, which is in the lower latitudes.
