The southern and eastern districts of the state of Madhya Pradesh in the last 24 hours saw some good rainfall activities. In fact, in a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Mana recorded heavy rains of 57 mm, Malanjkhand 24 mm, Durg 17 mm, Umaria 7 mm and Chhindwara 5 mm of rain.

Now, a confluence zone has formed as northeasterly dry winds are merging with southeasterly winds from Bay of Bengal over South Madhya Pradesh. This merger of winds will ensure that southern districts like Khargone, Betul, Hoshangabad, Seoni, Khandwa, Mandla will continue to see light to moderate spells of rains until October 23.

Eastern parts i.e. Jabalpur and adjoining areas also witness light rains until the same time frame. Thereafter, the intensity of these rains will go down significantly but isolated very light rain may continue over East Madhya Pradesh on October 24 and 25.

These showers will not be heavy and will not cause waterlogging or any problems to the public. Moreover, the weather, due to these rainfall activities will become somewhat pleasant and temperatures will reduce to some extent at least.
