Heavy rains in southern districts of Odisha have been triggering flash floods, with the Nagavali River flowing above the danger levels. The river intersect through Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts of North coastal Andhra Pradesh.

In the span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Bhubaneswar recorded 106 mm of rainfall, Baripada 46 mm, Sundargarh 40 mm, Chandbali 36.5 mm, Sambalpur 31 mm, Balasore 25.3 mm, Koraput 16.8 mm, Jharsuguda 11.6 mm, Phulbani 10 mm, Angul 6.6 mm, Bhabanipatna and Tilagarh 5 mm, Dhenkanal 4 mm, Kheonjhargarh 4 mm, Paradip 3.8 mm and Cuttack 1.2 mm.

As per Skymet Weather, an active trough is seen extending from North Rajasthan up to East Central Bay of Bengal across Odisha. Due to this, moderate rain and thundershower activities are likely to continue over northern districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours.

However, rains over southern districts of Odisha will reduce significantly within 24 hours, wherein mainly light rains along with few isolated moderate spells may occur.
