Nagpur has seen some damaging and record-breaking rainfall during the weekend. In fact, starting Friday night and into Saturday, Nagpur saw heavy showers with 24-hour rain amounting to a whopping 117 mm. These showers resulted in flooding over the city and even caused four deaths. In fact, water entered at least 10,000 homes in the city of Nagpur. Rainfall has however reduced over the city.

There have been some decent rains over parts of Maharashtra in the last 24 hours. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Wardha recorded 77 mm of rain, Nanded 44 mm, Nagpur 32 mm, Yavatmal 20 mm, Chandrapur 17 mm, Harnai 22 mm and Mumbai 10 mm.

The Cyclonic Circulation that caused rains, will soon shift over Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra and the adjoining Konkan region. Thus, rains will ease out over Vidarbha and gradually, the rain belt will shift over other parts.

Rains may not be as heavy for Vidarbha but will be seen for the next two days. However, good rains may be seen over other parts of Maharashtra until the end of the month.
