Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha have received good rains during this season. Wherein, Chhattisgarh is rain surplus by 22% and Vidarbha has touched the normal mark. Once again, these central regions are all set to witness good spells of rain soon because of the prevailing weather systems. A trough is seen extending from East Uttar Pradesh up till Telangana across Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha and this too will be responsible for bringing rains in Central India.
As per Skymet Weather, scattered rain and thundershower activities are expected over Chhattisgarh and isolated spells can be seen over East and Northeast Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. One or two spells of hailstorms cannot be ruled out over these areas. The activity over the same would start from the night of February 7 and would continue till February 8.
Koriya, Korba, Bilaspur, Rajnandgaon and Durg in Chhattisgarh would witness light to moderate rain and thundershowers. Whereas, Nagpur, Gondia and Chandrapur in Vidarbha would witness isolated rains. The minimums over the same are expected to rise by two to three degrees. Whereas, maximums are expected to drop significantly over Chhattisgarh with marginal drop in Vidarbha.
The last spell in Chhattisgarh was from January 24 up till January 26. Nagpur witnessed last rains between January 24 and 25. Since then the weather has been completely dry over these areas.
