The state of Telangana is at present largely rain deficient by 63 percent. Weather in most parts of the state is dry and hot, with maximum temperatures settling above 40 degrees Celsius. Yesterday, Khammam recorded its maximum temperature at 42.4˚C, followed by Nalgonda 42.0˚C, Ramagundam 41.4˚C, Hanamkonda 41.0˚C and Bhadrachalam 40.6˚C.
The onset of Southwest Monsoon has already gotten delayed by fifteen days. But now we expect weather activities to increase over parts of Telangana.
The reason for these increased rains will be attributed to a trough extending from Southwest Bihar to Telangana. Moreover, a low-pressure area is also expected to form over West central Bay of Bengal.
Therefore, we expect light to moderate rain and thundershowers with one or two heavy spells to over most parts of Telangana including the capital city Hyderabad. These intense rains will occur around June 22.
Talking particularly about the city of Hyderabad, sky will remain generally cloudy with one or two spells of rain and thundershower activities. Maximum temperatures will settle around 34 degrees Celsius and minimums will remain around 25 degrees Celsius.
In fact, these rains will help in marking the onset of Monsoon over parts of Telangana and bringing down the rainfall deficiency of the state to some extent.
