Rainfall in the state of Gujarat has been confined to coastal parts of Saurashtra and South Gujarat including Surat, Valsad, Vapi, Bharuch, Mahuva, Veraval, Somnath, Porbandar, Okha, Dwarka, Jamnagar.
In the last 24 hours, parts of the state have also seen some three digit rainfall in some parts. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Daman recorded 160 mm of rains, Valsad 109 mm, Okha 43 mm etc.
Similar pattern is likely for two more days with some rains. Thereafter, rainfall activity is expected to reduce.
The reason for these rains can be attributed to a feeble Cyclonic Circulation over the region. A trough is also extending from the Arabian Sea across the area. The low pressure area is over . Both the systems will now get filled up due to which rains may reduce
