The state of Andhra Pradesh has been witnessing heavy rains all thanks to Cyclone Phethai which has managed to give three-digit rains in some parts in the past two days.
In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Kalingapatnam saw a whopping 102 mm of rains, Tuni recorded 68 mm of rainfall, Visakhapatnam 60 mm, Narsapur 23 mm, Vijayawada 16 mm, Machilipatnam 3 mm, and Bapatla 2 mm.
However, now the cyclone weakened into a well-marked low during the early morning hours further becoming a low-pressure area by afternoon hours. In fact, the system will further become a cyclonic circulation moving towards Northeast India and subsequently become insignificant.
However, there is a trough which is extending up to South Andhra Pradesh Coast. Due to the presence of this particular system, light rains are expected to occur over some parts of South Andhra Pradesh, and that too, only the coastal areas.
On the other hand, weather is expected to remain dry for the rest of Andhra Pradesh starting today itself. Night temperatures are expected to drop now, while day temperatures may see a slight rise. Weather from now on, will remain dry in the coming days as well.
