Gujarat was reeling under prolonged dry weather conditions lasting for over a month now and this was all due to the absence of any significant weather system. However, to break this monotonous elongated dry spell, few pre-Monsoon showers are predicted to lash parts of the state.
At present also, cloudy weather is prevailing over most parts of the state. In fact, Rajkot has already witnessed hailstorm. These pre-Monsoon activities are most likely to persist for the next 2-3 hours, disappearing thereafter.

As per Skymet Weather, the southwesterly winds are prevailing over the region. These winds are generally warm and moist in nature. Due to convergence of winds over the area, thunderclouds have developed over central parts of the state.
On account of this, short spells of rains, thundershowers or thunderstorm are expected to lash parts of the state like Surendranagar, Rajkot, Amreli, Bhavnagar and Anand. This is also the favourable period for hailstorm.
Due to these rain and thundershowers activities, the maximums that were touching the sky and settling above the 40-degree mark, will also witness a marginal drop. On Wednesday also, the maximum over the capital of the state, Ahmedabad was a scorching 43.5°C. However, with these showers, the maximum will settle down by a few notches.
