Southern districts of Chhattisgarh as well as parts of East Madhya Pradesh are set to receive rain and thundershower activities associated with isolated dust storm during next 48 hours. East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have already received isolated rain and thundershower activities during the last 24 hours, from 8:30 am on Thursday.
These pre-Monsoon activities will subside by tomorrow over East Madhya Pradesh. However, Chhattisgarh will continue to receive scattered rain and thundershowers tomorrow as well. By March 14, the weather activities will subside over Chhattisgarh too.
So, we can say, that Central India is gearing up for Pre-Monsoon activities for another 24 to 48 hours. Isolated activities are a possibility in Vidarbha as well.
The reason for these rains can be attributed to a Trough that is extending from Bihar up to interior Karnataka across Chhattisgarh.
Weather of West Madhya Pradesh on the other hand, is likely to remain hot and dry. Moreover, Heat Wave conditions are likely to persist over western as well southern parts of Madhya Pradesh. Temperature in Vidarbha is already above the 40 degrees mark in most places. Isolated pockets are reporting Heat Wave conditions.
The below table lists a few places in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, recording above-40 temperatures at present-
These rain and thundershower activities will occur mainly during late afternoon and evening hours. Therefore, the maximum temperatures will not see any major changes, raising the possibility of Heat Wave conditions to persist.
