Rains continue to batter Madhya Pradesh, crops in danger

Madhya Pradesh Rains 1

During last 24 hours, many parts of West and South Madhya Pradesh have received good rainfall. This rainfall can be attributed to the effect of the cyclonic circulation which is over Madhya Maharashtra.

Now we expect this weather system will gradually move in a northwest direction. And will affect Southwest parts of Madhya Pradesh with moderate rainfall at many places.

Another cyclonic circulation is over Telangana and adjoining areas. This weather system is expected to give scattered rains over East Madhya Pradesh.

So we can say for next 24-48 hours, many districts of Madhya Pradesh will receive varied intensity of rainfall. Only Northern districts, such as Gwalior, Shivpuri, Datia, Tikamgarh will receive isolated rain activities.

Though Madhya Pradesh was one of the most rainfall surplus states during Southwest Monsoon and Monsoon has not withdrawn from the state. So these rains will continue over the state for the time being.

But this rainfall is not beneficial for Kharif crops. For crops to harvest, at least a gap of 5-6 days is needed. This dry spell is not foresighted in the near future.

Moderate to heavy rain is predicted which may damage the standing crops, particular Soybean.
