During the last few days, mostly dry and warm weather conditions were prevailing over the city of Hyderabad and adjoining areas. Mainly cloudy sky was prevailing over the region.
However, during the early night hours yesterday, some thundery activity accompanied with short spells of light rains was witnessed at one or two places over Hyderabad. These rains continued towards the day as well and the city continues to record significant rains today.
At present, a Cyclonic Circulation lies over West-central Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast. Thus, warm and moist winds are blowing over the city continuously. Due to these moist winds, few spells of moderate to heavy showers accompanied with gusty winds are likely to further affect the city.
These rains are likely to continue during the coming two to three days and the city of Hyderabad might record moderate spells of rain and thundershowers intermittently. Heavy showers cannot be ruled out at one or two places.
These rains will lead to a significant reduction in temperatures. The day temperatures which were being recorded at around 33 degrees since the last two days will now decrease significantly and settle down at around 27 to 28 degree Celsius during the coming days. The night temperatures however will remain unchanged and will be recorded between 22 to 23 degree Celsius.
Not just Hyderabad but other parts of Telangana will also see light to moderate rains during the next two to three days due to the presence of the same system.
