Rains coming up over Goa and entire Karnataka

West Coast has been lying dormant for quite dormant for some time. In fact, all the three rainiest pockets of Kerala, Karnataka, Konkan and Goa remained quiet. However, rains have begun to pick up pace over Kerala and the state recorded heavy showers in the last 24 hours which also extended to some parts of Karnataka.

Now, along with Karnataka, Goa will also see some rains in the coming days. Rains are travelling from south to north, which means Goa will have to wait a little. Thus, around August 4 onward, we can expect good rains until August 6. August 8 onward, it will become light.

As far as Coastal Karnataka is concerned, there have been some three digit rains in the last 24 hours with Shirali recording 288 mm of rains, Karwar seeing 112.6 mm of rainfall. We can expect these rains to stay along the coast including cities of Karwar, Shirali, Mangaluru, Madikeri etc.

For South Interior Karnataka, Bengaluru saw good showers at 46 mm of rains, Mandya recorded a whopping 143 mm. Now also, these areas including Mysore, Chitradurga, Shimoga will see good rains in the next three days. Rains over North Interior Karnataka including Gadag, Dharwar, Raichur, Dhawalgiri may also be seen until around August 5.
