Maharashtra and Telangana are all set to see some rain starting today. Today, the rain activities will begin over Telangana and last for at least five to six days. On the other hand, Maharashtra may see some rain starting tomorrow. Rains will be starting over Vidarbha, Marathwada and adjoining areas and later spread over to Madhya Maharashtra also.
Typical Pre Monsoon activities will be seen over both of these states. There is a possibility of hailstorms also at isolated places over both these areas. Rainfall will begin over Telangana first and spread over to parts of Maharashtra from tomorrow, beginning from Marathwada and Marathwada initially. Around April 27 and thereafter, one can see Madhya Maharashtra seeing good rainfall as well.
The reason for these rains is the presence of a cyclonic circulation over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas. Along with this, the anticyclone over the Bay of Bengal is also pumping moisture over both states. The Peninsular India trough also remains active. Thus, the combined effect of these systems may result in some rains over these areas.
