The weather of Northwest India has remained dry for the last five to six days. The last rainy spell that occurred over the region was between February 12 and 13. It is due to the continuous dry weather that has led the temperatures to rise over almost all the regions.

As per Skymet Weather, one after another Western Disturbances is approaching the Western Himalayan region. However, they failed to induce any cyclonic circulation over the northern plains of the country which is why the weather remained dry.

However, now, a Western Disturbance is expected to approach the Western Himalayan region by tomorrow i.e. on February 20. Due to its effect, light rains are expected over parts of South Haryana and North Rajasthan on the night of February 21. Thereafter, the weather would once again become dry.

On account of this, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are anticipated to occur over many parts of Delhi and NCR, Punjab, few parts of Haryana, isolated places of North Rajasthan and parts of West Uttar Pradesh.

During this time, chances of hailstorms are also prominent, therefore, hailstorm activity is also expected at isolated places of Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan. Due to these rains, the day temperatures would also drop by 2-4 degrees over all these above-mentioned areas but would once again start rising from February 26 as the dry weather would take over.
