Rains are all set to make a comeback over plains of North India. Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and parts of Rajasthan are likely to witness light rain and thundershowers from April 3-5.

According to Skymet Weather, northern parts of both Punjab and Haryana will start receiving rain from April 3. But Delhi, North Rajasthan and South Haryana may witness light thundershowers and dust storm from late Sunday night only.

Few parts are also likely to see hailstorm also during this period.

The fresh rain activity will be on account of the passage of the fresh Western Disturbance and its induced cyclonic circulation.

At present, the Western Disturbance is marked over Afghanistan and adjoining areas. While the circulation is over Central Pakistan and neighbouring parts of South Punjab. Both the systems will be gradually moving in east direction.

In wake of the change in weather, dry northwesterly winds will be replaced with moist southeasterly winds. These increased levels of humidity will also increase the discomfort during the day time.

Sky will remain partly cloudy to cloudy during the next two to three days. Maximum temperatures, which have been settling well above normal, will register a significant drop of 3-5 degrees.

Meanwhile, minimum temperatures will see marginal drop only.
