The weather remained mostly dry over Jammu and Kashmir during the last 24 hours. The morning was relatively cool while day was slightly warm and comfortable with a cloudy sky. Presently, a feeble Western Disturbance is moving across northern parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Also, incursion of moist winds is taking place from the Bay of Bengal.
Hence, weather over the state of Uttarakhand will remain comfortable over the hilly regions, while southern parts will remain slightly warm. Scattered places will receive light to moderate rains and thundershowers over Uttarakhand.
Central parts of Himachal Pradesh will also receive light rains at scattered places. Rest all places over the state will however remain dry and comfortable.
However, due to the lack of moisture, Jammu and Kashmir will remain mostly dry along with a partly cloudy sky. The weather will be comfortable during the day while night will be slightly colder. However, chances of light rains cannot be ruled out over the Jammu region.
These weather activities are likely to affect the hilly states during the next 24 to 48 hours. Thereafter, the rain intensity will decrease considerably.
As of September 21, the seasonal rainfall in Uttarakhand is deficient by 23%, while Himachal Pradesh is deficient by 14% while Jammu and Kashmir is deficient by 21%.
