Rainy days are back for the northern state of Uttar Pradesh and the state has been receiving good rains for the last few days now.
During the last 24 hours also, many parts of Uttar Pradesh received light to moderate rain and thundershower activities. Places like Gorakhpur, Bahraich and many other parts of foothills of Uttar Pradesh received these rains. As per records, while Bareilly received 1 mm rain, Varanasi 1 mm and Gorakhpur received 3 mm.
However, the weather in the Bundelkhand region, i.e. Banda, Orai, and Jhansi remained dry. Although during the last two days, a few foothill areas have received good rains.
These rains occurred in the presence of a Trough which was extending from northern plains to Bihar while passing through Uttar Pradesh. Now, the Trough has weakened. Therefore, the rains are expected to reduce a bit today.
The foothills of Uttar Pradesh including Najibadad, Moradabad, Bareilly, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri and Gorakhpur may continue to get short spells of rains. On the other hand, the southern districts of Uttar Pradesh will remain dry.
The weather over entire state will go dry following this rain episode. We might see a clear sky over most parts by tomorrow.
Day temperatures have already reduced by three to four degrees over many parts. Now, we expect minimum temperatures to also follow suit.
