During the last 24 hours, light rains and thundershowers were recorded at some places over the state of Bihar and adjoining parts of North Jharkhand. Dense fog also affected one or two places over these states during the early morning hours.

These weather conditions are prevailing due to presence of a Cyclonic Circulation over northern parts of Uttar Pradesh. Another Cyclonic Circulation is seen over northern parts of Chhattisgarh region.

Since, these systems are moving east-northeastwards slowly hence, light spell of rains and thundershower will be continuing at scattered places over Bihar and Jharkhand.

Places like Poorvi Champaran, Pachimi Champaran, Chapra, Sivan, Sitamarhi, Darbhanga, Muzzafarpur, Supaul, Sitamarhi, Kishanganj, Purnia, Patna, Aurangabad, Luckisarai, Gaya, Daltonganj, Chatra, Ramgarh etc are likely to experience these rains.

One or two places might even see hailstorm activities. These weather activities are likely to prevail for the next 36 to 48 hours. As times progresses the rainfall activities will decrease.

These rains are sure to turn out useful for the ongoing Rabi crops like wheat, gram, potato, peas, mustard and sugarcane etc.

Due to presence of moisture conditions, there is a huge probability of formation of a dense fog layer engulfing the state of Bihar and adjoining parts of North Jharkhand after 18 to 24 hours.

After 18 to 24 hours, the fog layer will intensify even more. Night temperatures will decrease gradually.
