Rains ahead for Jalore, Mount Abu, Kota, Bhilwara, Ajmer, Jaipur, Jodhpur

Rain in Rajasthan

The rainfall activity has mainly remained confined over the Southeastern parts of Rajasthan during the last few days. These areas are receiving moderate spells with isolated heavy rains.

During the last 24 hours, Tonk received 66.3 mm rains, Kota recorded 45.2 mm, Bundi 37 mm, Bhilwara 37 mm, Chittorgarh 32 mm, Sawai Madhopur 17 mm and Jaipur received 1.3 mm rains.

Isolated activity was also seen over some more portions of South and East Rajasthan. While West Rajasthan continued with dry and hot weather.

At present, the axis of Monsoon Trough is passing through North of Rajasthan. A Low Pressure Area is over North Madhya Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Rajasthan. This system, as an upper air system, is tilting southwestwards with height. A Cyclonic Circulation persists over Kutch and adjoining Arabian Sea in the lower levels. Another Trough from this system, is moving across towards the Low Pressure Area.

Present circumstances shows at the rainfall activity will continue to remain confined over the Southeastern parts and adjoining eastern parts of Rajasthan for the next 24 hours, before decreasing gradually.

For the next 24 hours moderate rains along with chances of isolated heavy rains are likely in parts of Jalore, Mount Abu, Kota, Bhilwara, Baran and Sawai Madhopur. Light rains are likely at a few places over Dausa, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Jaipur, Jodhpur, and adjoining areas. While, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Phalodi, Churu, Ganganagar and Hanumangarh, will remain dry and hot.

Temperatures over these areas may reach close to 40-degrees. Due to easterlies over North Rajasthan, humidity may increase marginally.

After 48 hours or so we can expect mainly dry weather to follow.
