Delhi weather has been quite unpleasant in the last few days. Absence of any major weather system and practically no rains have led to increase in humidity levels and warm days.
This weather reminds Delhiites of June which despite being a major Monsoon month did not observe much rain due to which the weather conditions were uncomfortable. The month of June was largely deficient for the city.
Monsoon rains continued to remain Subdued in the month of July as well except for one or two moderate spells.
The month of August, however, came as a relief and some heavy rains were witnessed throughout. Delhi received its heaviest spell of the season on August 17 wherein a total of 49 mm of rains were observed in the city. However, since then the rains have been patchy and majorly localized.
As a matter of fact, Delhi has not witnessed any typical Monsoon like rain activities until now.
For the next 2 days, there isn't any relief expected for the people of Delhi. As the Axis of Monsoon Trough is running South of its normal position and is extending from West Rajasthan up to Bay of Bengal across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, Delhi weather is most likely to remain dry until August 30.
Thereafter, the Axis of Monsoon Trough will gradually move northwards towards Delhi and NCR. Moreover, a Cyclonic Circulation is also expected to form over Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas around August 31.
Thus, the city might finally see some rains on August 31. This spell of rain in Delhi will continue until September 4 though it would not be widespread.
