During the last 24 hours, light spells of rain and thundershowers have occurred at some places over northern parts of Andhra Pradesh. At the same time, other parts of the state remained dry and slightly warm during the day. Meanwhile, nights were pleasant.
Presently, an upper air Trough is extending from Marathwada to Odisha across Vidarbha and South Chhattisgarh. Due to the presence of this Trough, cold and moist air masses are mixing over Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha region. The state will see moist winds from Bay of Bengal.
Hence, during the next two to three days, light spells of rains and thundershowers would be affecting many places over Andhra Pradesh. The northern parts of Andhra Pradesh will see more rainfall activity as compared to the southern parts of Andhra Pradesh. The southern parts of Andhra Pradesh i.e. Rayalaseema may receive light rains at isolated places due to increased cloud cover and rainfall activity.
Places like Vijayanagar, Kalingapatnam, Vishakhapatnam, West Godavari and East Godavari are likely to receive moderate rains and thundershowers while places like Machilipatnam, Narsinghpur, Vijayawada, Kakinada, and Bapatla etc will receive light rains and thundershowers.
Meanwhile, the day temperatures would be decreasing while night temperatures would be increasing slightly. All these rains will be beneficial for the crops of coconut, paddy, sugarcane etc.
