The entire region of Northwest India saw a dryer phase in the initial couple of months of Monsoon. June and July were the months which saw hardly any rainfall. However, by July end, Northwest India was enjoying 4 percent surplus rains.
As soon as the month of August started and good rainy spells lashed the entire northwest region. Due to the movement of Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir, in the last 24 hours couple of good showers was observed over Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
At present the system has moved away from the region and the axis of Monsoon trough is presently running to the south of normal position. Thus the chances of rains over the region is almost nil for the next 24 hours.
However localized developments in some pockets may provide with light rain. The day will be mostly warm and windy conditions will prevail in the most parts of the Northwest plains. Delhi & NCR will observe a dry day and the temperature are expected around 34-35 degree Celsius. And moderate winds will prevail during afternoon and mainly partly cloudy sky expected.
