The Cyclonic Circulation over Comorin Areas and adjoining Sri Lanka has intensified into a Low-Pressure Area. Another Cyclonic Circulation is being seen over Lakshadweep Islands. A trough is extending between these two systems.
During the last 24 hours, the extreme Southern parts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala observed scattered rains. At the same time, isolated rains were observed over Northern parts of these states. Coonoor recorded 26.4 mm rainfall, the district of Kanyakumari 12.7 mm, Palayankotai 4.2mm, Kochi 3.6mm and Thiruvanathapuram received 17mm of rain.
During the next 48 hours, the rainfall activity will continue at a few parts of these states. This system is soon moving away and another system which is over Northwest of Andaman sea is likely to intensify into a Depression. The winds are likely to become Northerly-North-Northwesterly and the wind-speeds are likely to increase. Clouding will decrease over most areas in the next 24 to 48 hours.
Morning temperatures are expected to show a drop over the interior parts of Tamil Nadu. As expected, the system over Southeast Bay of Bengal may concentrate into a Cyclonic storm and would affect North Tamil Nadu coast by 15, this month.
