Rainfall situation over Karnataka to improve soon

September 13, 2016 1:13 PM |

June ends on a surplus note for Coastal Karnataka

The relationship of Karnataka and Monsoon this year has not been well as the rainfall over the state has been only subdued. Interior Karnataka is rainfall deficient by 15% and coastal Karnataka region is heavily rain deficient with 22%.

Even though on & off light to moderate rain is continuing over coastal Karnataka but interior districts of the state haven’t received any good showers.

As per meteorologists at Skymet Weather, coastal Karnataka and interior Karnataka will receive good Monsoon rains for next few days. Usually the rain intensity is expected to increase over North interior Karnataka.

This increase in the rainfall activity is due to the influence of low pressure system which is at present over north coastal Andhra Pradesh. We expect good rain over north interior Karnataka for next 24-48 hours thereafter intensity of rains is expected to increase over coastal Karnataka and these rains are expected over coastal Karnataka for next 3-4 days.

During this entire course of time, South interior Karnataka will receive less rain in comparison to other parts but light rain can be expected over southern districts for next 2-3 days. Though these rains will not be able to solve the water scarcity problems of the state, but relief is in sight.
