The state of Karnataka has seen some rains in the past. So much so that the region has witnessed a few rainy spells in the last 24 hours as well. Due to these rains temperatures which were running above the normal levels have also subsided to quite an extent resulting in pleasant weather conditions throughout the state.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Gadag saw 6.7 mm of rainfall, Mysuru also saw some rainy spells at 4 mm. Meanwhile, Bengaluru and Hassan witnessed some traces of rain during the same time period.

These rainfall activities can be attributed to the trough which has been running in proximity of the state of Karnataka. Along with this, a trough running across the Konkan and Goa region also played a part in the rainfall activity over Karnataka.

Weathermen at Skymet Weather believe that during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall is expected to continue over the southern parts of Karnataka as moisture incursion from both the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea will take place resulting in clouding and thereafter rains over the region. Light rains are also expected over the coastal parts of the state during this time period.

North Interior Karnataka on the other hand will see very little rains. Thus, cities of Bengaluru, Mysuru, Hasan, Mangalore, Madikeri, Honavar, Karwar may see rains during this time.
