During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday,Purneareceived a whopping 38.4 mm followed by Patna where 31.2 mm of rainfall was recorded. Other areas to have received rains includeMuzaffarpur23.8 mm, Chapra 12 mm,Motihari11 mm, Forbesganj 4.5 mm, Supaul 2.2 mm andBhagalpur0.8 mm.

These rains can be attributed to the axis of the Monsoon trough which is running along the foothills of Bihar. Now, during the next 24 hours, good rains are expected to continue over the state over both the foothills and the plains.

However, after 24 hours, rainfall intensity is expected to decrease over the foothills of Bihar as the eastern arm of the Monsoon trough is expected to shift southwards. However, due to this shift the plains of Bihar will continue to receive good rains after 24 hours. Thereafter, rainfall intensity will decrease over the entire state.
