Rainfall activity to reduce over Rajasthan and Gujarat

August 31, 2016 2:58 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Despite receiving subdued rainfall in the past couple of days, Rajasthan remains one of the most rainfall surplus regions in the country. Whereas, both the regions of Gujarat state have received deficient rainfall.

At present the axis of Monsoon trough has moved further north and there is an absence of any significant weather system over the region. Thus the rainfall activity is likely to reduce from most parts of West and South Rajasthan. But few regions like Northeast Rajasthan and adjoining areas will continue with isolated rainfall activity.

The state has received light rainfall at many places during last 24 hours, mainly over East and North parts of Rajasthan. Rainfall recorded over various places of the state are: Alwar 24 mm, Chittorgarh 21 mm, Jodhpur 20 mm, Mt. Abu 11 mm, Kota 5.4 mm, Pali 69 mm and Udaipur 6.8 mm.

As far as Gujarat is concerned, Saurashtra & Kutch region will witness mainly dry weather. There happens to be no weather system as of now prevailing over the region. But some activity, mainly light rain activity, may happen over South coast of Gujarat and extremely East Gujarat.
