During the past few days, the Holy Shrine of Vaishno Devi has been witnessing dry weather conditions, though the winter chill sustained its grip over the region.
The weather over Vaishno Devi is affected by Western Disturbances and presently, a fresh Western Disturbance has approached Jammu and Kashmir. In the wake of this weather system, light to moderate rains are predicted over few places of Jammu and Kashmir.

With this, one or two spells are also expected over Vaishno Devi. However, the occurrences of heavy to very heavy rains over the region are ruled out.
In consequence, there are very least chances of snowfall near the Bhawan. Isolated light showers will be seen over the area on January 4 and 5. During this time, days would see cloudy weather.

With these weather conditions, day temperatures are expected to drop significantly, leading to severe winter chill. On the other hand, minimum temperatures will continue to settle in the same range.
For the next 48 hours, minimum temperatures at Vaishno Devi would settle around 0˚C-1˚C, while maximum temperatures would be between 7˚C-8˚C.
By the weekend, the weather will again go dry, as the Western Disturbance will move away eastwards. Therefore, it will be a good time to visit the shrine of goddess and seek blessings.
