Rain to take a back seat over Northwest India, temperatures to drop

The intense Western disturbance which was responsible for heavy snowfall over Western Himalayas and moderate to heavy rain and thunder shower as well as isolated hailstorm activities over Northwest India is moving away eastwards. Associated induced cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan will also fade away.

After the passage of Western disturbance ongoing rain activities over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and western parts of Madhya Pradesh will stop. Cloudy to overcast skies will give way to clear or partly cloudy Sky. Easterly winds over change direction and will be replaced by dry and cold winds from north. Minimums of Rajasthan have already dropped by 4 to 5 degrees. There may be for the fall in minimums of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat during next two days.

We do not expect cold wave to reappear over Delhi and NCR but isolated pockets of Haryana and Rajasthan may witness cold wave condition in next 48 hours.
