Rain to subside from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, temperatures to drop further

Under the influence of the current Western Disturbance, fairly widespread rain and snow have been occurring over the hills, while the northern plains have also been experiencing good rains. However, its impact was relatively less in the central states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Although, Western Disturbances do not impact much over these central states, from the past two days scattered light rains have been occurring in East Madhya Pradesh, while isolated parts in North Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh also recorded light to moderate rains.

At present, the Western Disturbance has moved away. Thus, the flow of icy cold northerly winds led to a significant fall in the maximum and minimum temperatures. Now, Chhattisgarh will also witness a drop in both the temperatures in the next 48 hours.

As per our meteorologists, these dry and cold northerly winds will continue to blow across these states for another two to three days i.e. until February 1 following which the minimums will fall further. However, after 24 hours, the fall in maximums will get arrested as clear skies along with bright sunshine will not permit the cold north-westerlies to blow across.
