Rain is likely to increase over northwest hills and plains during the next few days. Delhi could also witness increase in rainfall in this period. Meanwhile, heavy to very heavy rain is expected at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and sub-Himalayan West Bengal and northeastern states. Heavy rain will also lash some places in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Telangana.
The cyclonic circulation over southwest Uttar Pradesh, the axis of monsoon trough and the Western Disturbance in the Western Himalayan region may work in accordance to increase rain over northwest hills and plains including national capital Delhi. Rain will be witnessed in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, north Punjab adjoining Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh during the period.
The axis of monsoon trough is passing through Ferozpur, Muzaffarnagar, Allahabad, Daltonganj, Puri, centre of low pressure area which then moves to southeast Bay of Bengal. Another branch of monsoon trough is passing through Allahabad, Bhagalpur, Malda to east Assam.
Under the influence of the weather system, light to moderate rain is expected at few places over east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and northBengal. Isolated places in this area may also receive heavy to very heavy rain during the next 48 hours. Northeastern states will also receive light to moderate showers at isolated places during the two days. A cyclonic circulation lies overAssamand Meghalaya.
A low pressure area in the northwest Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh and south Orissa coast may push forth rain over Telangana, Vidarbha, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh in the coming few days.
Rain will decrease along the west coast. However, in south Peninsula, rain will occur in interior Maharashtra, south interior Karnataka and Kerala with heavy at isolated places. Rain will be scanty over Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu during the next two to three days.
