A cyclonic circulation which is on the verge of evolving into a low pressure area is expected to bring another period of moderate to heavy rain in central India, especially over Madhya Pradesh that is battling floods.
Before lashing Madhya Pradesh, the weather system will bring rain to east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, Chhattisgarh and Gangetic West Bengal during the next 24 to 48 hours. The flood situation in Varanasi and Allahabad could deteriorate further with another band of rain.
Meanwhile, Orissa and West Bengal coast including Kolkata is heading for heavy to very heavy rain in next 24 hours. Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Vidarbha will also get affected when the weather system enters the land from the Bay of Bengal.
While moving in west-northwestwards direction, the weather system will meander through central India between 29th to 31st August, unleashing fair amount of rain over Chhattisgarh, east Gujarat and Rajasthan. Rise in water levels in Narmada, Shipra and Painganga rivers could become more challenging as flood water could spread to some more areas of the region.
Northwest India will get some relief from warm weather as temperatures will drop due to clouds and rain in the region. A fresh Western Disturbance is expected to affect north India from Wednesday onwards.
In south India, interiors parts will remain mostly dry with above average temperatures. West coast will get light rain except north coastal Karnataka and south Konkan coast which may get moderate showers during the next two days.
