Updated on November 27, 2015: Madhya Pradesh is likely to witness some rain and thundershowers very soon and this rain will end a month-long dry spell in the state.

An induced cyclonic circulation is present over Northeast Rajasthan. This weather system will gradually move eastwards leading to a formation of trough from South Gujarat to North Madhya Pradesh.

The moist southwesterly winds from the Arabian Sea and southeasterly winds from the Bay of Bengal will make a confluence zone over Madhya Pradesh by 29th November leading to cloud formation and light rain activity. This rain activity will increase in intensity by 30th November and shall continue till 1st December.

By that time, many parts of Madhya Pradesh will get light to moderate rain and thundershowers. Places that are expected to receive rain and thundershowers include Bhopal, Indore, Sagar, Jabalpur and Satna.

While this system will begin to give rain in Madhya Pradesh by 29th November, it is likely to keep moving eastwards and gradually give rain in northeast Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

Rain to affect temperature in Madhya Pradesh

Due to light to moderate rain, which is likely to continue for 2-3 days in Madhya Pradesh, the maximum temperature in various parts of the state is likely to witness a drop of 3-4°C. Due to this people are expected to observe pleasantly cool weather during the day, however, this shall not be construed as the winter chill.

Minimum temperatures, however, will witness a marginal rise by 2-3°C in Madhya Pradesh during this period.
