Rain to continue over east central India and south Peninsula

The east-west wind shear zone extending from the Bay of Bengal to the Arabian Sea remains active as it is now connected with the cyclonic circulation in the north Bay of Bengal. The weather system will continue to give rain over east central India, south central and southern peninsula during the next two days.

The cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal will continue to provide moisture feed that will precipitate over Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and north interior Karnataka.

Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa and Chhattisgarh will receive moderate rain at a few places while light rain may also occur over Bihar, Jharkhand and parts of Madhya Pradesh.

Maharashtra and interior Karnataka will also receive rain with moderate spells at a few places during the next two days. Some parts of south east Gujarat will receive rain.

The off shore seasonal trough (region of intensified moist winds) along the West coast is extending from Kerala to Karnataka coast. Light to moderate rain will occur over coastal Karnataka and Kerala during the next two days.

North India will continue with its dry spells as there is no weather system in the offing. The Western disturbance over east Jammu & Kashmir will further move eastwards raising the temperatures in the region.

Northeast India is also devoid of any weather system at the moment so there is no chance of rain in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. However, light rain may occur over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura due to the weather system in the Bay.
