A fresh Western Disturbance is affecting Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh since the last two days, which is giving rains and thundershower over these areas. This is an active Western Disturbance affecting the hills after a gap of about one week or so.
During last 24 hours, moderate rain and thundershower activities occurred over many places in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Isolated activities were witnessed over Uttarakhand. The effect of these Western Disturbances is also being felt over northern plains as northern districts of Punjab and Haryana have seen scattered rains.
Now, the intensity of rains will decrease over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh but scattered light to moderate rain will continue to occur until tonight.
By tomorrow, the Western Disturbance will move away eastwards leading to significant decrease in rains and the weather will start clearing up. The day temperatures which have dropped by about 4 to 5°C, will once again rise.
Another fresh Western Disturbance is now over Afghanistan, but this fresh Western Disturbance is not as strong as the current one. Therefore, it may not give any significant rainfall activity in the days to come.
Now, as we head towards the end of April, the intensity and frequency of Western Disturbances will decrease, as these weather systems tend to travel in the upper latitudes.
