Rain to bring relief from hot and humid weather in Delhi

Rain in DelhiThere has been no weather activity in Delhi and NCR in terms of rain since last 5 days. On June 14 the maximum temperature came down to 32°C in view of rain and thundershowers.

The Safdarjung observatory recorded 26 mm of rain on June 13 and 1 mm the next day. Thereafter temperatures started rising gradually and touched 42.3°C on Friday.

Humidity has also increased in the national capital region, leading to very warm and uncomfortable weather conditions. Afternoon hours have become scorching and sultry.

Nevertheless, at present we can see a cyclonic circulation over northwest Rajasthan. Moderate easterly winds brought about by the system will induce rainfall activity over entire Northwest plains of India. Light scattered rainfall will commence over Delhi-NCR from Saturady night or Sunday morning.

In wake of this, pleasant weather will prevail over the entire region as both maximum and minimum temperatures will witness a significant drop. Intensity of rain will increase by June 23 and maximum temperatures could come down to mid-thirties.

This rainy spell will continue till June 26 and cover entire Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh. Eastern states of Bihar and Jharkhand will also be affected by this spell of rain. By the end of these pre-Monson showers, we will almost reach the scheduled date for onset of Monsoon in Delhi.
