The hot and scintillating Delhi weather that has been prevailing in Delhi and NCR has made the weather conditions across the national capital and adjoining regions pretty difficult.
Since a long time, Delhi has been battling with intense summer heat. However, after touching sky high temperatures, the recent few rainy spells and dust storm activity had made the weather conditions across Delhi and NCR pleasant. The scorching mercury levels that were settling near 45-degree mark curtailed down to rest in 40’s.
In fact, in the last 24 hours also, dust storms with strong winds occurred over parts of Delhi and NCR but rainy spells were absent but it’s certainly made the weather conditions comparatively cooler.
However, as per Skymet Weather dust storms, rain and thundershowers with squally winds are expected over some parts of Delhi-NCR today during the late night hours. These pre-Monsoon activities are likely to continue until May 21. The sky is likely to remain partly cloudy to cloudy over the region and the sizzling 40 degrees will take a backseat as the maximums are expected to settle between 36°C and 40°C.
The reason for these rain and thundershowers that will make the weekend rainy for the Delhiites can be attributed to a Western Disturbance that is over Jammu and Kashmir. Moreover, an induced upper air cyclonic circulation is also seen over Central Pakistan and adjoining Rajasthan.
Thus, Delhi and the adjoining regions like Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad and Ghaziabad are most likely to see rain and thundershowers this weekend. However, by May 23, the weather will again start clearing up leading to rise in temperatures once again.
