During these winters, Vidharbha in Maharashtra and the state of Telangana have been experiencing on and off unseasonal rainfall and thundershower activities which is not very common.
Once again, unseasonal rain are very likely to be seen in Vidharbha and in parts of Telangana. These rains will be due to a North-South trough which will be extending from Uttar Pradesh to Telangana across Madhya Pradesh and Vidharbha.
By today and tomorrow, we expect light to moderate rain and thundershowers in Akula, Amrawati, Nagpur, Gondia, Bhandara, Vardha, Chandrapur and Gadchiroli. Isolated pockets of Telangana like Nazibabad and Karimnagar may also witness light rainfall activities during the same episode.
The minimum temperature of Vidharbha and Telangana will also increase by 2-3 degrees celsius in the next 48 hours due to southeasterly winds and cloud cover.
At present, many districts of Vidharbha are experiencing minimum temperature below normal by 2-4 degrees Celsius. These minimum temperatures will be seen in normal but after the passage of these weather activities, minimums will once again drop due to the commencement of northerly cold winds. Around January 10 and January 11, minimum of Vidharbha, as well as Telangana, will once again drop by 2-3 degrees Celsius.
Hailstorm activities are also expected in isolated pockets of Vidharbha by tomorrow. However, the weather will become dry once again over Vidharbha as well as in the state of Telangana by January 09.
