Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand could witness rain and snow at several places in the next two to three days due to a strong Western Disturbance expected in North India from tomorrow onwards. With the arrival of the weather system, night temperatures may rise while day temperatures that are already below normal may drop further.
The associated cyclonic circulation with the Western Disturbance will emerge in Madhya Pradesh, making the weather in northwest and adjoining plains colder due to clouds and rain during the period. Day temperatures in North India are below normal at several places as the foggy conditions are sustaining for a longer period of time in the morning.
Amritsar, Ludhiana and Chandigarh in Punjab observed below normal maximums on Monday. In Haryana, Ambala, Hisar, Karnal and Narnaul also recorded below normal day temperatures. Night temperatures in these places are also below the normal.
Places like Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Aligarh, Jhansi and Meerut saw maximums drop 3 to 4°C below normal on Monday due to clouds. Kanpur recorded a maximum of 14.3°C, which is8 °C below the normal.
Jaipur, Bikaner, Ajmer and Kota in Rajasthan are also witnessing below normal day temperatures. The maximum temperature recorded in Kota on Monday was 17.3°C, which is 7°C below the normal.
The maximum temperature in Delhi may begin to fall from Wednesday onwards and stay below normal for the next two days. Day temperature in Delhi on Monday was recorded at 17.6°C which is likely to rise marginally on Tuesday due to clear sky.
