Rain and snow will occur in the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh during the next 24 to 48 hours as the Western Disturbance over Jammu & Kashmir is expected to move eastwards to reach the state. Himachal Pradesh has been witnessing relatively warm weather for the past one week or so.

Day temperature in Shimla was recorded at 19.5 degrees on Wednesday and it may fall by 2 to 3 notches to settle around 17 degrees in the next two days. Similarly, Dharamsala that recorded 25.6 degrees as maximum temperature yesterday may also witness a fall of 2-3 degrees. The sky will be partly cloudy to cloudy in Himachal Pradesh.

Night temperatures in northwest and Indo-Gangetic plains may drop due to snow in the higher reaches of Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Winds will change to blow as notherly in the next two to three days. These cool winds will pull down the night temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees from tomorrow onwards in the region.

Minimum temperature that recorded 16.7 degrees on Thursday in Delhi is likely to fall and settle at 14 degrees in the coming two days.

Yesterday, under the influence of the Western Disturbance, Srinagar recorded 4 mm of rain. But as the weather system moves away, weather in Srinagar will become dry with normal day temperatures. Night temperatures in the city will drop from tomorrow onwards.
