Rain parched Mumbai finally receives good showers, more in the offing

Mumbai rains continued to give the city of Dalal Street a miss for more than a month. The city remained dry throughout the month of February.

Not even a millimeter of rain was recorded in the commercial capital of India during this time. March also began on the same note with rains being absent from the Aamchi Mumbai for a long time.

Residents of the city had been complaining of hot and humid weather conditions and were in desperate need of some rainfall. Now, it seems like rain gods have finally answered their prayers.

Areas including Navi Mumbai have already begun to receive rain and in a few hours, the rains will spread to other parts of the city as well.

These showers can be attributed to the confluence zone, which is presently over North Maharashtra and is extending up to South Chhattisgarh.

This weather system will continue to give good rains over Mumbai for another 24 hours or so. After that, the system will move in an eastward direction, and the rain belt will shift towards parts of Chhattisgarh.

These rains will give some marginal relief from the ongoing weather conditions. Both maximum and minimum temperatures will also witness a slight drop.
