A trough is seen extending from eastern parts of the country up to Andhra Pradesh coast. This system is likely to move further east and persist along the coastal line for next 48 hours. In the past 24 hours, warm and humid weather prevailed in Andhra Pradesh whereas hot weather was observed in Telangana. Isolated rains were a sight over Kalingapatnam, Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam.
As a trough is persisting over the area, rain and thundershower activities would continue to prevail over the coastal belt for the coming 48 hours. The weather is expected to be mainly warm and humid in the afternoon hours. Morning will be generally comfortable with light breeze and haze. Clouding is likely to develop over the region towards afternoon. Evening hours might see some thundershower activities in areas like Machilipatnam, Kakinada, Vijayawada, Nellore and Visakhapatnam. Warm and humid weather is likely over Anantapur, Kurnool and Tirupati.
Day and night temperatures in Telangana will continue to remain above normal by two to three degrees. Early morning hours will remain comfortable with light breeze for the coming two days. Hot day type conditions would prevail with temperatures ranging between 36°C-38°C. Around March 8, rain and thundershower activity is likely over both the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. A Cyclonic Circulation is expected to form over North Andhra Pradesh coast and its adjoining areas. Also, a trough from this system would run up to South Tamil Nadu. These weather systems would help in giving rain and thundershower activities over South Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
