The southwesterly winds from the Arabian Sea and the southeasterly winds from the Bay of Bengal are reaching eastern parts of the country. Under the influence of both these winds, widespread rain is expected over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. Light to moderate rain will be witnessed at many places while one or two places could also get heavy rain during the next two days. Rain and clouds will also keep the temperature below the average.
Moist winds from both sides of the peninsula will also affect east central parts over Chhattisgarh and Orissa in the next 24 to 48 hours bringing rain to almost 60 percent of these areas.
Northeast India will experience increase in rain during the next few days. Rain will be more effective in southern states over Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland. Northern parts in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh will receive rain at a few places. Rain is increasing in the region due to the intensifying southerly winds from the Bay of Bengal.
Rain will pick up again in Gujarat and Rajasthan as the low pressure area continues to persist in the region.
Rain will be light to moderate along the west coast. Mumbai in the region will receive light showers.
Rest of central and peninsular India will witness subdued rain in the next two days. North coastal Andhra Pradesh will receive light to moderate rain in this period.
