The winter months in Karnataka are the best time to visit the state. It doesn't really get very cold with the lowest temperature dipping to about 10°C. With so many lakes and gardens to visit, sightseeing and outdoor activities are most comfortable at this time.

By this time, you might have figured out, that this is more of a go-to-article for anyone who is planning to visit Karnataka anytime soon and is worried about how’s weather going to turn out in the days to come.

Well, during the last few days, dry weather continued over the entire state of Karnataka. In absence of any significant weather system the days were pleasant topped with warmer afternoons and cool nights.

Presently, a Trough of Low is extending from Equatorial ocean to southwest Bay of Bengal off Tamil Nadu coast. This system would be further moving in west-northwest direction.

This Trough would bring along, warm and moist winds over south interior and coastal regions of Karnataka. Light to moderate spells of rain and thundershower will be observed in some places of South Interior Karnataka, and parts of coastal Karnataka region during the next two to three days. However, due to the lack of moisture laden winds, North Interior Karnataka will continue to remain dry.

The cloud cover is likely to increase and will surround the skies of the entire state. The day temperatures will decrease over South and coastal Karnataka, while night temperatures will increase over the north interior Karnataka. Places like Madikeri, Kodagu, Bengaluru, Hassan, Shimoga, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Mangalore, Karwar, Dharwad, Chamarajanagar are likely to experience light to moderate rain.

People who are travelling wouldn’t need heavy woolens but carrying a light jacket, especially for the nights, (which tend to get chilly especially when rains are ahead) is highly advisable.
