The month of September remained quite good for the entire state of Maharashtra as the Southwest Monsoon remained vigorous to active for a longer period of time.
When compared, Monsoon made a better impact during the month of September than the month of August over entire Maharashtra. Talking about present weather conditions, few places over Maharashtra have been witnessing scattered light to moderate rains.
In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Ratnagiri recorded moderate rainfall of 45 mm, Kolhapur 21.3 mm, Gondia 10 mm, Harnai 9 mm, Parbhani 8 mm, Satara 5.6 mm, Sangli 4 mm, Vengurla 2 mm and Solapur 1 mm.
These weather conditions can be attributed to a trough which is seen passing through Chhattisgarh and Telangana up to North Kerala.
Due to this weather system, a few spells of light to moderate rains and thundershowers are likely to continue over some parts of Vidarbha and South Madhya Maharashtra for the next few days. Meanwhile, scattered light showers are possible to continue over few places of Konkan & Goa region.

However, remaining parts of Maharashtra including Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Ahmednagar and Jalgaon are expected to reel under warm and dry weather conditions during the similar time period.
Thereafter, the intensity of these light rains is further likely to increase over Vidarbha and adjoining regions from October 5 onwards. But by October 7, it is likely that many parts of Maharashtra will again pick up pace and thus, good spells of rain are anticipated over the entire state.
The reason for these above-mentioned increase in the rainfall activity can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is likely to form over Odisha Coast and also with this, an east-west trough will be seen extending up to Maharashtra.
Accordingly, we can say that Maharashtra is all set to witness a rainy weekend ahead! Until then, cities such as Gondia, Amaravati, Chandrapur and Nagpur will continue to witness scattered light to moderate rains.
In the meantime, day temperatures are likely to remain around 33-35 degree Celsius, whereas, minimums are likely to settle around 25-26 degree Celsius mark. Thus, the mornings and night are expected to remain pleasant for the entire state of Maharashtra.
