Almost dry weather conditions have been prevailing in the state of Maharashtra. However, now we expect, scattered light to moderate rains to commence over Vidarbha region during the next 24 hours. Thereafter, rains will also increase over Marathwada and parts of Madhya Maharashtra.
By October 7 and 8, almost all the districts of Maharashtra will begin to receive light to moderate rain and thundershowers. These rains will be mostly for short durations. One or two intense showers are also possible but heavy to very heavy rains have been ruled out from the region.

Gradually, after October 9, rainfall activity will once again take a backseat. However, on and off showers will continue over some parts. Mumbai is also expected to witness a few spells of light to moderate rains October 7 onward. The rainfall intensity may increase on October 9 and 10. During that time, intense showers for short duration are expected over many parts.

These rains will be attributed to a cyclonic circulation over Odisha. This system is expected to move towards Chhattisgarh. Also, a trough will extend from Chhattisgarh to South Konkan and Goa which will enhance the rains over the state.
Cities including Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, Parbhani, Kolhapur, Jalna, Aurangabad and many others will witness light to moderate showers during this period.
