We have constantly been updating our readers about widespread rain and snow forecast in many part of India. Yesterday we forecasted rain in Delhi and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir on the 21st and 22nd of January. However today, our weather models are also indicating winter rain in parts of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Dry South India, which has been soaring in the absence of rain, could also witness light showers in Tamil Nadu tomorrow. Our weathermen tell us it is a series of systems forming simultaneously which will be responsible for rain in these regions.

Maharashtra

A feeble trough along the Maharashtra coast could give light rain over north and south coastal Maharashtra and parts of Goa. Weather in Maharashtra could turn rainy in the capital city Mumbai and in Raigarh and Dahanu. Rain could be light in intensity and could last only for 24 hours in south coastal Maharashtra, whereas the northern coast of the state could get light to very light showers on Wednesday, 22nd Jan as well.

Gujarat and Rajasthan

A trough extending from Gujarat up to Rajasthan and parts of Haryana could make the weather rainy in east Gujarat as well as in southeast Rajasthan. In Rajasthan, places that will receive rain are Kota, Jhalawar, Alwar, Sowai Madhopur, Bharatpur and Dholpur. Some of the places in Gujarat to witness rainy and cloudy weather are Vadodra, Surat, Dahod, Valsad and Navsari. Rain in Gujarat could start from today onwards and last for 24 hours whereas rain Rajasthan could start from tomorrow and continue till the 22nd of Jan.

Madhya Pradesh

There is forecast for rainy weather in Madhya Pradesh because of an induced system (cyclonic circulation) which will form in association with the Western Disturbance in the hills of North India. Rain could cover most parts of Madhya Pradesh and showers could be light to moderate in many pockets. Places to receive rain will be districts of Indore, Dhar, Ujjain, Jhabua, Ratlam, Nimach, Mandsor and Barwani. Sarting from today; rain could continue till the 22nd January.

Tamil Nadu

While most of the country has been witnessing rain/snow, experiencing an icy cold winter, weather in South India has been and hot and uncomfortably dry. But forecast for tomorrow has some good news in the offing. Forecasts suggest rain in Tamil Nadu for the next 24 hours. Strong and moisture laden northeasterly winds from the Bay of Bengal could give isolated light rain at Ramananathapuram, Toticorn and Pamban districts of south coastal Tamil Nadu.
