Rain likely in Kolkata, West Bengal

The state of West Bengal experienced light to moderate rainfall activity during the last 24 hours. In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Saturday, Digha recorded 11.2 mm of rain and Midnapore 1 mm. Few other districts also saw trace of rain.

At present, the axis of Monsoon trough is passing across Gangetic West Bengal. A cyclonic circulation lies over Northwest Bay of Bengal off West Bengal Coast. Simultaneously a Western Disturbances is also passing across the Tibet region.

Under the influence of all this weather systems, light to moderate rains will occur over many parts of West Bengal. But the weather conditions will remain warm and dry with cloudy sky.

In Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, rain and thundershowers will make appearance mostly during early morning and afternoon hours. Meanwhile rest of West Bengal will get affected towards evening hours.

Kolkata will also receive light rains during afternoon and evening hours. But during the morning temperatures will rise and make the weather conditions warm and humid.

Few spells of rain and thundershowers are likely to affect over Bankura, Bardhaman, Birbhum, Haora, Hugli, Kolkata, Nadia, North Twenty-Four Parganas, Paschim Medinipur, Purba Medinipur, Purulia and South Twenty-Four Parganas districts of West Bengal during next 12 hours.
